Stacey has worked as a journalist at The Bookseller and Fabulous magazine, and has written for publications including Stylist, Psychologies and The Independent. Her debut novel The Familiars, immediately charted on The Sunday Times bestseller list and remained there for eleven weeks.  Her second novel, The Foundling, was also a Sunday Times Bestseller. Mrs England is her third book. She’s been called 'next Hilary Mantel'.

If you want to be a writer, you have to continually pursue ideas and in most cases write whole manuscripts with no idea of how it's gonna be perceived. You still have to find a new idea and write a new book. So it's in your interest to, I think, move on from every book that you finish writing, whether that has been a failure or a success.”
